DYNAMIC GAME MIXING

This video shows Agents Of Mayhem with Wwise dynamic mix systems and settings disabled vs. enabled. This means:

 

• Sidechaining
• Ducking
• Realtime reverb
• Compression
• Dynamic EQ

…and so forth.

 

Pay particular attention to the overall loudness, punchiness of the weapons and melee attacks – and especially the clarity of the VO (I notched out a lot of frequencies from other non-VO elements of the mix when VO was active) in the segment with everything enabled. You’ll also notice how the reverb processing puts the character voices into the environment which is a subtle but crucial detail.
